Meet Caleb Thomas Schwab.
Caleb was a wonderful 10-year-old boy, but he unexpectedly died.
Caleb died just a few days ago when he was at a waterslide.
Specifically, he was riding the world’s tallest waterslide that is located in Kansas City in the state of Missouri.
The Verruckt waterslide is over 168 feet tall.
The word ‘Verruckt’ was a German term for ‘insane’ and the height of the waterslide clearly made it a crazy ride. The waterslide is actually taller than the Statue of Liberty.
Esteban Castaneda witnessed the horrific death of Caleb.
According to him, he heard several loud noises until the raft Caleb had reached the bottom section of the ride.
When Esteban looked at the water, a lifeless body was found.
The body belonged to Caleb, and the head was already removed. Esteban Castaneda also noted that one of his relatives rode the water slide, and one of the seatbelts was not tight.
The Verruckt opened only in July, but it had been delayed.
This delay was caused because of several safety concerns.
Now, footage has emerged of the ride’s rafts flying off.
It is terrifying, and people think the ride’s weaknesses caused the kid’s death.
The safety of the ride was already mentioned back in 2014.
There were issues regarding the engineering aspect of the ride, but the creator of the waterslide argued that it was already “safe dangerous” instead of simply being dangerous.
The creator also noted that it was primarily for thrill seekers and not families.
However, every ride should still put safety first before excitement. Now, the ride is filled with controversy.
